The renewal programme starts August 2nd, 2017
The Barbados Postal Service (BPS) and the Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP)are pleased to announce a joint initiative to facilitate the renewal of BARP membership cards via the network of Barbados Post Office Locations island wide.
The membership renewal programme which is earmarked to commence on August 2, 2017 should be a welcomed service to all BARP Members who may have expressed difficulty in finding the time to visit the BARP Office. Ms Elsa Webster, Executive Manager of BARP, stated that while BARP members were keen to renew their membership, work commitments, time constraints and lack of transport were but a few of the challenges which delayed timely renewal and hindered members from enjoying the benefits of their membership. She added that in exploring alternative avenues to better service its membership, BARP was pleased to find a partner in the Barbados Postal Service.
It was envisioned that the nineteen (19) locations of the Barbados Postal Service would provide members with greater accessibility and options to renew their BARP membership card. Those present at the launch were assured that all member information obtained in the renewal transaction would be kept in the strictest confidence by the staff of the Post Office.
Upon visiting the Post Office, the BARP member would be required to complete a brief Membership Information Form, the BARP Membership fee and a minimal transaction fee would be paid to the Post Office. The transaction would be processed and a receipt provided to the member as proof of membership renewal. The updated BARP membership card would then be processed and posted to Members within three business days. Should members require immediate return of their cards, the Post Office could facilitate them via their Rush Delivery Service. Alternatively, members could visit the BARP Headquarters located at Mervue House, Marine Gardens, Hastings, Christ Church for immediate processing and return of their membership cards between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
BARP members were asked to note that the new programme launched between the two organisations was to solely facilitate renewal of membership. New BARP members and persons with memberships in arrears would be required to visit the headquarters to complete their respective business.
